Résumé

It is a well known that despite all of its advantages the digital revolution also leads to large variety of new risks.

One principal issue in this context is the growing dependence of our modern information society from the availability and correct (including manipulation-proof) function of modern communication services.

This talk will start with a short overview on threats in communication networks in our times of convergence with respect to networks, protocols and devices.

Then it will discuss current network security approaches based on two case studies from the areas of DoS-resistant distribution of Live-Multimedia-Streams and automatic and dynamic configuration of complex VPN infrastructures.
